Sunday Pictures

Every sunday for this year I'm going to take a couple of pictures of my kids. Today I wanted to take advantage of the beautiful light that I had in my bedroom. I had the kids sitting on the edge of the bed looking at the window. Then David came home and started teasing and scaring them. That was way more fun than Mom's photoshoot. So I didn't get many. But, thats okay. I love capturing them enjoying themselves.

For the joy of photography

Okay, I've kind of been taking too many pictures lately. I'm bugging my kids to death. But, I really do enjoy it. In fact I love it. Otherwise I wouldn't be doing it. March is quickly coming and that is the month which I took the plunge and was mentored by someone who I thought was one of the best photographer's I knew of at the time. I learned tons from her. How to master manual settings, lighting, composition, photoshop. Since then I've done other workshops and have put countless hours into shooting and editing.

It has been an amazing journey. Sometimes, especially in the beginning I would get so discouraged that I wish I had never started. I even resigned to give up a few times. But, I guess I just love it to much. I think you have to. Unfortunately it hasn't been a profitable venture because I am always buying better equipment. Geesh, who knew that you needed lenses that could cost as much as a great camera. That was kind of a disappointing discovery. But, you might be able to make enough money to pay for your next lens that you discovered you absolutely had to have.

Anyway, to anyone trying to improve your photography skills keep working on it. It will pay off and it is rewarding in many ways.

Here's a few more of my poor kids doing their every day thing with a camera in their face. . .again. It will take some serious bribing to get them to do a real photoshoot with me. I'll save that for our yearly family photoshoot.

And to all of you blog stalkers out there - visit my photography site: laurabunker.com. For some reason blogger has really been putting this blog out in cyberspace and I've been getting tons of hits here. In fact I put a counter on three days ago and I've already had over 490 hits. So I really need to steer people towards my "real" photography blog. Please go HERE.

Also, if enough people are interested I might post a "helpful" photography tip on this blog about once a week. I get asked so many questions about how, why, or where to buy. Drop me an email or leave a comment if that would interest you.

Baylee and Braxton Jumping

Here is a few pictures of Baylee and Braxton playing with me in the studio last sunday afternoon. They were already dressed up for church so after they ate dinner we went down and jumped around. Well, Braxton and Baylee jumped - Jennica twirled. She didn't get a lot of air.

Jennica

After church on Sunday Jennica wanted to put on a pettiskirt and dance, twirl, and jump in the studio. Of course she had to decide what she was going to wear. I'll probably never print them so I thought I would share them here.

I just love the pink string around her neck. I tried to get her to take it off but she said it was her doggie leash and she needed it on.

Noodle Necklace

Braxton made this little necklace in pre-school last week. He has hardly taken it off. This is him in his primary class today. I'm his teacher and I brought my camera for a little project were doing. I think it's so cute how he gets attached to things.

It'll be a sad day when this little necklace get's lost or broken. It's not if it's when. . . . . . . . .

Happy Valentines

I love this picture that I got of Jennica this morning. It is so truly her. She and Braxton usually makes the craziest faces when I have my camera in my hand. So I loved this.

This is what I usually get. . . .

Motivating clip

My Dad was having a hard time getting this to work on my blog so I reposted it for my parents. I just love this little clip. My sister watches it about 3 times a day for inspiration and motivation.

Enjoy!

Candid Shots

I wanted to post more candid pictures of my kids. It seems like I do to many planned photoshoots and they just don't work for them. It's so much easier taking pictures of other peoples kids than my own. So I decided I would just catch them doing their every day things like taking a bath, playing with their toys or even eating dinner. It's my goal to take weekly pictures of them.

Here's to the tub. . . . hours of entertainment on long winter nights.

I knew that bucket wasn't a good idea.

I liked how this picture captured Braxton trying to make her feel better.

Prayers for Bronson

The Staker family had an accident a week ago Saturday. Their 18 month old son Bronson is in need of some prayers. His life is hanging in the balance. Their story has touched me deeply and is good for every one read. You will definitely hold your kids a little tighter and things will be put into perspective for you.

You can read their story HERE.

Meanwhile I will be praying for Bronson.

Immunizations

I know immunizations have been under attack lately. Do they cause autism or other damage? Who knows. All I know is that I've had all of my kids vaccinated by the age of two. Just like the doctor ordered. I also had my kids immunized for the H1N1 virus. Sat in line for two hours to get that done. Recently a photographer who happens to be a friend of my little sister Cori lost her baby to a disease that is preventable through immunizations. If your sitting on the fence you should read her blog HERE.
