Pumpkin Land

I have taken my kids to pumpkinland in Vineyard since Baylee was 10 months old. It's definitely tradition now. We could never miss it and the kids look forward to it every year. We went during Fall break and it wasn't busy at all. So nice.




These pictures are taken inside Pumpkinland's haunted house. It was really dark in there and these were taken without a flash. I am constantly amazed at how well the Nikon D700 does in low light situations. I showed my kids these pictures and they wondered how I turned dark into light.

Gardner Village

I love to take my kids up to see the witches every year at Gardner Village.
You can see the fish in the water underneath the boat.







The weather was beautiful and we had lots of fun.

Our House last night at bedtime

We sometimes have a hard time settling down for bed. It seems after the kids have taken their baths, brushed their teeth, etc -- all of a sudden they get a burst of energy and bedtime is delayed by at least thirty minutes. Yes, David does play a part in that too.

And I hate to make a post without a picture. I took pictures of Megan Grover's cute little boy on Friday. We shot a few of Jane at the same time. Don't you just love her outfit? It is a Matilda Jane outfit. Me and my sisters are hosting a Matilda Jane party a week from this Tuesday at my Mom's home in Alpine. If your interested in coming let me know. You can bring your kids to try on the clothes. We will have yummy treats and will be giving away a free mini session plus other prizes. You don't have to buy anything just come and have a good time. I'll post more information later.

What we've been up to. . . .

We went to the kid's elementary schools pumpkin walk again this year. We froze our tushes off. I think it was 40 degrees or some insane temperature.

Sandals were not the most wise choice in footwear.



Afterwards we went to Kohlers to buy some hot chocolate and donuts. We didn't want to stand in the long line at the pumpkin walk when it was sooooo cold. David ran in to get the groceries and decided to buy some bread as well. When he came out he said he saved over $40 by purchasing wisely. He made me go in and take a picture of the sale sign.



Baylee decided to marry off her female bunny to her friend's Savannah's male bunny. They made invitations and sent them to friends and everything. Baylee asked me to buy treats - a bag of Danish donuts - (their white) and some doilies for decorations.
I was also the photographer.




Lastely, I had to post a picture of Baylee's best friend Savannah. While Baylee was at activity days Savannah helped me find all of my baby kittens and helped me take pictures of them for KSL. Can I just say that it really comes in handy to be a photographer when you have to give away something like a kitten. I'm down to one kitten. I had twelve to give away. I ran over one - and the other one disappeared. Another note: I have an appointment with a veteranarian next week. No more kittens. Shhhh. . .my kids don't know.

News Update

Yes it's true. . . David was seen on channel five and fox 13 news last night. Cedar Hill's water tank had an equipment malfunction and it did not quit pumping water like it should have. A few yards got water and debri on it. Not really a big deal. But, Saturday night we got a call from "911" emergency . . . evidently channel 4 thought they needed an interview with David that night. David was NOT happy that they used emergency dispatch to get to him. They were not granted an interview.

For some odd reason David doesn't like being on prime time TV. Darn it. Because the kids and I get a big kick out of it. My parents recorded him so we'll be able to watch his 2 minutes to fame over and over. . hee hee.

My Kids

I took my kids on a photoshoot for my sister the other night. I wasn't really taking their pictures much but I got a couple that I liked and thought I would share.

A few things we've been up to. . . . .

We went to a horse show tonight and watched Zach's (David's horse partner) horse perform. She took second and won $1,200.00 tonight. She was a really nice filly.

David wants me to think about photographing horse competitions so I did my best. I don't have the right equipment though. I love my wide angle lens but I need a zoom lens for this. I'm trying to talk David into buying it for me (since it would benefit him horse wise). But, it is a $1,800 lens so I think it may have to wait. But, the world show is coming in December and I'm sure David would love to get some cool action pictures of our stallion Buck's N Moore performing. So, we'll see. . .


This is how I found Jennica after school today. She fell asleep on the couch. I just thought it was funny that it was on the arm. She's a cute little pickle.



Braxton and Jennica have been so funny lately. They have been asking me the most silliest questions. "Mom whats under your skin?" I'll say, "blood and bones". "Well, whats in blood?", I'll say, "water, salt, and nutrients". "Well, whats in water, salt, and nutrients?", I'll say good things that keep your skin and bones alive and healthy." "Well, whats in bones?", I'll say "hard things to hold your skin and blood up," I know I get really technical. "Ohhhhhhh, I never knew that. By this point I'm hoping that we can move on - sometimes we do and other times I may spend fifteen minutes trying to think whats inside things. So far I've had to explain whats inside milk, water, skin, bones, blood, eyeballs, noses, and stomachs.

Family Reunion

My family had the best time this weekend at a cabin up fairview canyon. There was fishing, four wheeling, but best of all good company. We spent Saturday with my Dad's brother and sister and their kids and their kids. I think there was about 70 people in the cabin and there was plenty of room. It was so much fun. It's been way to long since we have gotten together like that. I remember how much I enjoyed playing with my cousins when we got together as kids. Now our kids can have as much fun as we did.

We will definately do this more often.

I will post some of the pictures I took. But, most people thought I was pretty annoying walking around with my camera - so I tried not to take too many.
